Moving Forward

Well the holidays came and went, a little too fast for me. Having my sister in town was as always an inspiration, she is a wonderful motivator because of how much drive she has and her life being in constant motion. I am begining to understand her stress when it comes to finding work in your desired field, it's not easy. I feel like I keep on searching for gallery work and always run into a brick wall, it will happen I know that...and I won't give up until it does but jeez this seems like a hunt and a half.

I went out last night for a friend's birthday and everyone there is on break, some still in their undergrad and some in their grad program...I was jealous of them talking about going back in a few weeks. I want to go back to school, my plan is in a year after I get some work under my belt. Now for making sure I find work soon so I can have a full years worth of it! If you hear anything send it on my way.....

Snow days and new beginings

With a fresh powder on the ground begins a fresh start in my life. This past Tuesday was my last day at the University of the Arts. The past 4 1/2 years have been filled with various learning experiences, new faces and inspirations. I took a course called Time and Motion this past semester, a class I had put off since freshman year, it ended up worth taking and I am glad I took it Sr. year. I learned how to make films and had a great experience learning new programs and stepping out of the box I normally find myself in. If I can figure out how to upload one of my films then you will all get the pleasure of viewing it too! Now I am ready to step out and journey into the next stage of my life. First thing on the list is to find a job, hopefully one in my field. I began my search for a job at a gallery, the hard part is finding a gallery booming enough to hire extra employees.

Other random exciting things are coming up in my life as well. I recently got a loan to purchase 15 acres in Perkiomenville, one day I will have a house on it...until then there are tons of trees and a huge pond to keep me entertained. My sister Hollis, www.hollisshermanpepe.com , comes in from California next week for the holidays which is always exciting and wonderful to see her smiling face! Then in January my boyfriend Jason and I are heading out to visit her with my cousin Joey, should be a wonderful trip and if this snow keeps up like it is it will be a nice break from that!

Stay warm everyone I am off to go make hot coco and relax with some board games! Oh and if you hear of any jobs opening up keep me informed!

Much love to you all!

Fall into winter

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful fall and a great start to your winter! Aside from sitting here by my fire looking at my wonderfuly decorated Holiday tree only a few things are happening in my life but all of them are big. First off I am finally graduating! I am coming in on the close to 4 1/2 wonderful years at University of the Arts, honestly I wish I could stay and keep on learning.

During the past few months I have been a teacher's assistant and discovered a new found love to helping and teaching students. After this experience I am contenplating a masters degree in education, I think I would love to teach at a University. The course I am working with is an alternative photography class, I think the reason I am leaning in this direction is because of the course itself...it's just plan fun!

Currently I have five pieces being shown at the Goldfish Gallery in Fishtown, PA. The Black Friday show will last until the end of the month so stop in if you have a chance. Along with my few photographs my mom has some of her jewelry in the showcase. Everything is being sold for under $100! http://www.thegoldfishgallery.com/

Right now I am working on getting 6 photographs matted and framed to ship off to Pittsburgh. http://www.verlanboutiqueandgallery.com/ This is a new up and coming boutique and gallery so if you are in the area hit it up and support the local artists and musicians! I will have work being shown for the month of December.

Hope to see and hear from you all soon! Much love, Chloe
